House Clearance In Keighley Case Example: House Clearance Requirements
The owner of a luxury flat in the centre of Keighley asked Keighley House Clearance Company to clear it for him. The three-bedroomed flat was set in a modern development and was located on the third floor. The client had been living in Texas where he worked in the oil industry for the last three years and had decided to stay there with his family for the foreseeable future. As a result, he had elected to sell the flat, which he had until then been renting out to tenants. The owner had traveled back to England to arrange the disposal of the property.
Our instructions were to clear the flat of all furnishings and household goods, but to leave the carpets, curtains and white goods in the kitchen. We were also asked to make an assessment of the value of the furniture and to arrange sale if it was deemed worthwhile. We were also to clean the carpets and arrange for cleaning of the curtains throughout the property.
House Clearance Overview
Despite being on the third floor, this flat clearance was quite straightforward since this modern block had a good sized service lift and a rear service entrance both of which we were able to use. This had the added advantage of keeping disturbance to other residents to a minimum, something we always aim to do when clearing a property in a large block.
We removed all of the furniture, most of which was in good condition, along with the general household effects and various kitchen items. Once the flat was cleared of its contents, we removed the curtains and delivered them to a dry cleaner. We arranged to pick them up in a couple of days to re-hang them in the flat. We then steam cleaned the carpets which we were pleased to see came up like new.
Disposal of Contents
Due to the high quality of most of the modern furniture, we were able to sell it through our retail outlet to offset the cost of the house clearance. Nothing was sent to landfill, and only a small amount of the contents were recycled, including cardboard boxes, plastic bottles and newspapers.
The owner of the flat came to inspect his property once we’d finished work. He was extremely pleased with our work and said he was going to instruct an estate agent to put the flat on the market right away.
