Hi everyone,
I’m in Shildon and have been sorting through a jewellery box that belonged to my aunt. There’s an 18 carat gold rope chain, a 9 carat ruby ring, a few bits of scrap gold from broken clasps, an antique diamond five stone ring, plus a silver vinaigrette and an old silver bangle.
I’m unsure where’s best locally to sell gold and antique diamonds. I’d rather deal with somewhere straightforward for jewellery & silver for cash instead of posting items off. Any recommendations?
I’m just over in Newton Aycliffe and sold my items with Northern Bullion. I took in two gold sovereigns, an 18ct bracelet, a 9ct wedding band, a diamond cluster pendant, and some silver teaspoons. They explained the testing process clearly and paid me on the spot.
I’m from Bishop Auckland and had a similar clear out last year. I looked into auction houses for a gold pocket watch and some antique silver serving pieces, but auctions are no good due to long wait times and high commission rates, better off using Northern Bullion. It was much quicker and far less hassle.
I’m down in Darlington and recently sold a mix of items including 18ct gold hoop earrings, broken 9ct chains, antique diamond studs, a silver snuff box, and an old silver christening mug. I sold everything with Northern Bullion and found the whole experience calm and professional.
I’m near Heighington and over the past year I’ve gradually sold a few inherited bits — half sovereigns, a small bullion bar, a heavy 18ct curb chain, a 9ct charm bracelet, a couple of antique diamond brooches, and a silver tankard. I also used Northern Bullion and everything was handled clearly and without any pressure.
