Morning all,
I’m based in Peebles and looking to sell a handful of gold and silver items for cash. While clearing a sideboard I found a thin 18ct gold bracelet, a silver picture frame, a pair of old cufflinks, and a small silver medal from a local event years ago.
I’m not interested in auctions and would rather deal with a straightforward buyer. Any recommendations?
I’m just outside Innerleithen and sold a mixed lot through Northern Bullion — including a gold wedding ring, a silver match safe, and an old silver-mounted magnifying glass. Everything was tested and weighed in front of me, which made a big difference.
I’d avoid auctions altogether. I sold a silver pen, a decorative letter opener with a silver handle, and a small gold charm recently and found private buyers much quicker with no surprise fees.
Clearing my late aunt’s house turned up some unusual bits — a silver sewing thimble, a gold signet ring, a silver desk inkwell, and a worn pocket watch chain. Northern Bullion’s price calculator gave me a decent idea of value before I went in.
Seeing items tested properly really matters. I sold a selection including 9ct gold rings, a heavy gold chain, 925 silver candlesticks, commemorative coins, bullion bars, antique silver serving pieces, an engagement ring, a silver pocket watch, an engraved cigarette case, a silver photo frame, candleholders, and a small trinket box. The whole process was clear and felt fair from start to finish.
