I’ve just been sorting through an old safe at my parents’ home and discovered some jewellery I’d completely forgotten about: an 18 carat gold chain, a 9 carat ring, a broken gold bracelet, a pair of antique diamond earrings, a silver vinaigrette, and a small silver inkwell.
