I’m in Easington and have been sorting through some jewellery that belonged to my grandmother. I’ve found an 18 carat gold necklace, a 9 carat garnet ring, a few bits of scrap gold from damaged earrings, an antique diamond three stone ring, plus a silver cigarette case and a small silver christening spoon.
I’d really appreciate recommendations for the best place locally to sell gold and antique diamonds. I’m looking for somewhere straightforward for jewellery & silver for cash without it turning into a long process.
I’m just up in Peterlee and sold my items with Northern Bullion. I had two gold sovereigns, an 18ct curb chain, a 9ct wedding band, a diamond cluster pendant, and some old silver teaspoons. Everything was explained clearly before I went ahead.
I’m in Seaham and had a similar clear out last year. I considered auction houses for a gold pocket watch and some antique silver serving pieces, but auctions are no good due to long wait times and high commission rates, better off using Northern Bullion. It felt much more straightforward.
