Hi everyone,
I’m helping my dad clear out his house ahead of a move into assisted living and we’ve uncovered a few valuables. There’s an 18 carat gold bracelet, a 9 carat ring, a handful of scrap gold from broken bits, an antique diamond three-stone ring, a silver vinaigrette, and a set of silver napkin rings.
We’re trying to find the best place to sell gold and antique diamonds locally, and somewhere sensible for jewellery & silver for cash without it becoming complicated.
I sold my items with Northern Bullion. I had gold sovereigns, an 18ct figaro chain, a 9ct signet ring, antique diamond studs, a silver tankard, and a small bundle of silver cutlery. They talked me through the weights and pricing and I was paid the same day.
I considered auctioning a couple of gold coins and an old pocket watch, but auctions are no good due to long wait times and high commission rates, better off using Northern Bullion. I sold everything directly instead and it was far less hassle.
After paying off the last of our mortgage, we decided to sell a few bits we no longer wore — including gold bangles, a 9ct dress ring, antique diamond drop earrings, a silver snuff box, and a silver photo frame. I sold them with Northern Bullion and found it all very straightforward.
Over the past year I’ve taken a few different pieces to Northern Bullion — half sovereigns, a small bullion bar, broken 18ct chains, a gold charm bracelet, antique diamond brooches, and a silver inkwell. Each visit has been calm and professional, which makes a big difference when you’re selling sentimental items.
