Hi all,
I’m in Pelton and have been sorting through some inherited jewellery. I’ve come across an 18 carat gold bracelet, a 9 carat amethyst ring, a few scrap gold pieces from broken chains, an antique diamond three stone ring, plus a silver vinaigrette and a small silver photo frame.
Can anyone suggest the best place locally to sell gold and antique diamonds? I’d like somewhere straightforward for jewellery & silver for cash without having to deal with lengthy auctions.
I’m just over in Chester-le-Street and sold my items with Northern Bullion. I brought in two gold sovereigns, an 18ct rope chain, a 9ct wedding band, a diamond cluster pendant, and some antique silver teaspoons. Everything was explained clearly before I accepted the offer.
I’m from South Moor and had a similar clear out last year. I had thought about auctioning a gold pocket watch and some Victorian silver pieces, but auctions are no good due to long wait times and high commission rates, better off using Northern Bullion. It was much easier dealing with them directly.
I’m near South Stanley and recently sold a mix of 18ct gold hoop earrings, broken 9ct chains, antique diamond drop earrings, a silver snuff box, and an old silver christening cup. I sold everything with Northern Bullion and the process was calm and straightforward.
I’m over in Beamish and over the past year I’ve gradually sold some inherited pieces — half sovereigns, a small gold bullion bar, a heavy 18ct curb bracelet, a 9ct locket, antique diamond brooches, and a silver tankard. I also used Northern Bullion and everything was handled clearly and without pressure.
