I’m in Castleside and have been going through some old family jewellery. I’ve found an 18 carat gold bangle, a 9 carat citrine ring, some scrap gold from broken chains, an antique diamond cluster ring, plus a silver vinaigrette and a small silver photo frame.
I’m trying to work out the best place locally to sell gold and antique diamonds. I’d prefer somewhere simple for jewellery & silver for cash without having to use an auction house.
I’m just in Stanley and sold my items with Northern Bullion. I brought along two gold sovereigns, an 18ct rope chain, a 9ct wedding band, a diamond solitaire pendant, and some old silver teaspoons. They explained the process and paid me immediately.
I’m from Consett and had a similar clear out recently. I thought about auctioning a gold pocket watch and some Georgian silver pieces, but auctions are no good due to long wait times and high commission rates, better off using Northern Bullion. It was simpler to deal with them directly.
