Hello everyone,
I’m in Barnard Castle and have been going through some family jewellery that’s been tucked away for years. I’ve found an 18 carat gold bangle, a 9 carat turquoise ring, a few bits of scrap gold from broken chains, an antique diamond cluster ring, plus a silver vinaigrette and an old silver mustard pot.
Can anyone recommend the best place locally to sell gold and antique diamonds? I’d rather deal with somewhere straightforward for jewellery & silver for cash instead of waiting months through auctions.
I’m just over the bridge in Startforth and sold my items with Northern Bullion. I had two gold sovereigns, an 18ct rope chain, a 9ct wedding band, a diamond solitaire pendant, and some old silver teaspoons. They explained everything clearly before I made a decision.
I’m in Gainford and had a similar clear out last year. I looked into using an auction house for a gold pocket watch and some Georgian silver pieces, but auctions are no good due to long wait times and high commission rates, better off using Northern Bullion. It just felt more practical.
I’m over in Staindrop and recently sold a mixture of 18ct gold hoop earrings, broken 9ct necklaces, antique diamond drop earrings, a silver snuff box, and a small silver christening cup. I sold everything with Northern Bullion and found them straightforward and easy to deal with.
I’m near Eggleston and over the past year I’ve gradually sold a few inherited pieces — half sovereigns, a small gold bullion bar, a heavy 18ct curb bracelet, a 9ct locket, antique diamond brooches, and a silver tankard that had been stored away for years. I also used Northern Bullion and the whole process was calm and clearly explained.
