I’m in Wingate and have been going through a jewellery box that belonged to my mum. I’ve found an 18 carat gold bracelet, a 9 carat topaz ring, some scrap gold from broken earrings, an antique diamond solitaire, plus a silver vinaigrette and a small silver candlestick.
Does anyone know the best place locally to sell gold and antique diamonds? I’d like somewhere straightforward for jewellery & silver for cash without the hassle of posting items away.
I’m just over in Thornley and sold my items with Northern Bullion. I took in a couple of gold sovereigns, an 18ct chain, a 9ct wedding ring, a diamond cluster pendant, and some antique silver teaspoons. Everything was explained clearly and I was paid straight away.
I’m from Trimdon and had a similar situation last year. I considered using an auction house for a gold pocket watch and some antique silver pieces, but auctions are no good due to long wait times and high commission rates, better off using Northern Bullion. It was much easier dealing directly with them.
