I’m preparing to downsize and came across a collection of jewellery I’d almost forgotten about. I have a gold mourning ring, 18 carat chains, a few 9 carat rings, antique diamond earrings, some scrap gold, and a silver snuff box.
Can anyone advise on the best place to sell gold, antique diamonds, and other jewellery & silver for cash locally?
I sold my items with Northern Bullion. I had gold sovereigns, a 9ct bracelet, an 18ct chain, a Victorian locket, a silver photo frame, and a silver candlestick. Payment was immediate and very fair.
I tried an auction for some silver medals and antique diamond brooches, but it was no good — long waits and high commissions made it pointless. Better to sell locally and quickly like I did.
After clearing a relative’s attic, I sold a mix of items including 18ct chains, broken gold chains, a silver vinaigrette, silver tankard, gold bangles, and a diamond solitaire. Everything went smoothly and I got a fair price.
