I’m in Ferryhill and have been sorting through some jewellery that’s been sitting in a drawer since my mum passed away. There’s an 18 carat gold necklace, a 9 carat sapphire ring, a few bits of scrap gold from broken earrings, an antique diamond three stone ring, plus a silver cigarette case and a small silver trophy cup.
I’m looking for recommendations for the best place locally to sell gold and antique diamonds. I’d prefer somewhere straightforward for jewellery & silver for cash rather than going down the auction route.
I’m just over in Spennymoor and sold my items with Northern Bullion. I took in a couple of gold sovereigns, an 18ct bracelet, a 9ct wedding band, a diamond cluster pendant, and some old silver teaspoons. They explained how everything was weighed and valued and I was paid the same day.
I’m in Chilton and had a similar clear out last year. I considered auction houses for a gold pocket watch and some antique silver serving pieces, but auctions are no good due to long wait times and high commission rates, better off using Northern Bullion. It felt much less drawn out.
I’m down in Sedgefield and recently sold a mixture of 18ct gold hoop earrings, broken 9ct chains, antique diamond studs, a silver snuff box, and an old silver christening mug. I sold everything with Northern Bullion and found them easy to deal with and very clear about pricing.
