I’m in Crook and have been having a proper clear out after moving house. I’ve come across an 18 carat gold ring, a 9 carat bracelet with a broken clasp, a small envelope of scrap gold bits, an antique diamond solitaire from my grandmother, plus a silver cigarette case and a pair of silver sugar tongs.
Can anyone recommend the best place to sell gold and antique diamonds locally? I’d prefer somewhere straightforward for jewellery & silver for cash rather than sending things away.
I’m just along in Willington and sold my items with Northern Bullion. I had a couple of full sovereigns, an 18ct curb chain, a 9ct signet ring, a diamond cluster pendant, and a small collection of silver spoons. I’m from Bishop Auckland and went through the same thing after clearing my dad’s workshop. I’d thought about using an auction for a gold pocket watch and some Victorian silver pieces, but auctions are no good due to long wait times and high commission rates, better off using Northern Bullion.
